hello!
i ordered a lot of four famicom games off of ebay. sounds boring huh? wrong! they came with a twist, that twist being they were picked randomly! ever since i placed the order around the end of january, i've been super nervous over what games i would get, yet excited at the same time! the person that set the listing up had lots of games available. like look at this!

pretty good stuff in there! (though you probably can't tell since it's very compressed) the games came today (as of writing this), so here is each game that i got from the listing, as well as a quick review on them! here we go!

the first game is famista '91!

it's a baseball game that comes in a pretty big cartridge. i admit, i really suck at baseball games but it's kinda cool. not much to say about it. maybe check it out? i don't know.

the second game is dragon ball z ii: gekishin frieza!

it's a roleplaying game with an interesting card mechanic. it looks really good too! i lkke the pseudo mode 7 scrolling in the fights. unfortunately, i don't really know how the cards work, so it's kind of a blind pick each time. also for some reason the english patch is filled with lots of random gibberish garbage? i haven't watched much of dbz so idk if it's intentional or if it's just a crappy translation or what else. still really cool game, best one out of what i got

the third game is kinnikuman muscle tag match!

better known as m.u.s.c.l.e. in america, it's a wrestling game that's based off a manga i haven't really heard much about. it's fine, ridiculously silly but you'll be lost if you don't know what to do. reminds me a bit of black box pro wrestling, fun with a friend but not really much.

the fourth game is tetris!

it's kinda interesting, as this one was published by bullet proof software instead of nintendo. most people are either familiar with the nintendo or tengen version, so the bps version is pretty unique. to be blunt, it sucks yet it's facinating. the controls are VASTLY different from the two other versions, which use left and right on the dpad to move, down to drop and the buttons to rotate, bps tetris does use left and right to move, but down to rotate and only the a button to drop, and it's an instant drop, so you can't hold down and slide the block into place. nope! you have to wait each block to drop veeerry slooowly. the controls can really hamper you especially if you've played any other tetris game beforehand. it's an interesting oddity in tetris games but you're better off playing the nintendo or tengen versions.

all in all, i had fun! the games weren't really keepers, i enjoyed this little experiment! maybe i'll try it again someday.

thanks for reading,
