hello!
so i know i’m super late about talking about these since they were shown off november but i think they’re cool enough to warrant some form of posting about them
i think the new steam hardware looks really cool! i do think i’ll really only get the controller since my xbone controller has gone missing since my trip to canada and i don’t have an interest in the steam machine or steam frame (yet) but i’m sure other people will be happy with what they get!
if i could make a general idea about the prices…

controller - i see this being the cheapest of the three without a doubt. i feel like $50 would be a reasonable-ish price? but that feels a little high for a controller, however given the amount of features they have crammed into this thing: ...i wouldn’t be too shocked if it’s higher than fifty, but i don’t see it going past a hundred.

machine - easily going to be the most expensive. quote me if i’m wrong but i remember valve saying they will price this around the pricing of a mini pc, so i think it would be over $500 at least, yet i wouldn’t know what to think for a maximum beyond maybe $700-$850. taking into account that they also said the machine would be six times more powerful than the steam deck, which (assuming all three models share the same specs) is $400, i can easily see the machine going for double that amount.

frame - given that the valve index was a thousand dollars for all of its required accessories (headset, controllers, base stations??) but only $749 for basically what the steam frame offers, i can see it being a bit cheaper than the index, though not by much. maybe $650 or so.
regardless, i wish valve a smooth and happy launch for these, which they said is early next year! i do hope that they plan on showing stuff off at the game awards today, as well as choosing to make more hardware later on, though i’m unsure which direction they would go…
a steam bathroom set would be pretty cool. take a valve shower with your steam shampoo and conditioner and utilize your steam soap and steam loofah to have a nice shower…

and of course, to play wizardry 8.
